Dear Parents,

 

On behalf of BAHIA I would like to welcome and invite you to our programs, either as part of the BAHIA Parent Advisory Committee, or simply as a parent who would like to be part of their child’s learning program. We encourage you to read further and stay engaged in your child’s learning and caring place. Research has proven that children perform stronger academically when parents are involved in their child’s school.

We are counting on you to be one of those engaged parents. By joining BAHIA’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), parents become the voice of ALL the parents and the children of our organization. PAC decides on the fundraising activities it will engage in that benefit their child’s program and BAHIA, Inc. as a whole. The policy and plan for parent engagement and involvement is our way to encourage and identify activities that parents will find interesting and willing to collaborate with each other and with the teachers.

 

The structure by which the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) operates is collaborative, designed to build leadership, and includes ALL parents in the BAHIA programs in Berkeley (Centro VIDA, Bahia School Age Program and Academia de Bahia). We invite you to participate in your child’s program by connecting with teachers and with other parents to help us build a strong, vibrant and successful bilingual environment.
