La Academia de Bahia

La Academia de Bahia launched in September 2010.

 

La Academia de Bahia is our part-time three hour bilingual (Spanish-English) preschool program located at 1718 8th Street.  Academia program operates 175 days a year from September through the middle of June. Childcare slots are open for subsidized and full-fee families. La Academia de Bahia’s curriculum is a Spanish Immersion pre-kindergarten readiness program.  Similar to Centro VIDA, La Academia de Bahia provides a play-based curriculum that is age-appropriate, and meets the developmental needs of children and follows the Learning Foundations. Our classroom and teachers provide opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration in a warm, caring and bilingual learning environment. Children are bi-annually assessed utilizing the Desired Results Developmental Profile 

 

This assists our teachers in planning appropriate learning experiences for each preschool age child that meets their age and a continuum of learning and growing goals/objectives. Parent conferences are provided bi-annually for parents to check-in with teachers regarding their child's assessments and progress at Academia de Bahia.

 

Children are grouped by birthday and year of birth

 

Corazones: (3 year old classroom) 12 children; 1 Teacher and 1 Teaching Assistant

Estrellas: (4 year old classroom) 12 children; 1 Teacher and 1 Teaching Assistant

Hours of operation: 9:00AM-12:00PM – September to mid June (175 days)

Total Enrollment: 24 Children
